MTR, 퉁청선 연장 구간 신규 선로 오늘 개통

MTR 공사는 오늘 일요일, 신설 예정인 퉁청 동부역(Tung Chung East Station)과 홍콩역을 잇는 신규 선로 구간을 개통했으며, 운행은 차질 없이 순조롭게 진행되고 있다고 밝혔다.

 오늘 첫차부터 퉁청역 출발 열차들이 퉁청선 연장 프로젝트의 일환으로 건설된 신규 선로 구간을 이용해 운행을 시작했다. 열차 운행 빈도는 기존과 동일하게 유지된다.

MTR 측은 전체 이동 시간이 이전과 거의 동일하며, 원활한 운행을 위해 운영팀이 상황을 면밀히 모니터링하고 있다고 전했다.

기술팀은 퉁청 방향으로 이어지는 다음 단계의 선로 이설 작업을 시작할 예정이다. 이 작업에는 새로운 선로 구간을 설치할 공간을 확보하기 위해, 더 이상 사용하지 않는 기존 홍콩행 선로를 철거하는 과정이 포함된다.

아울러 올해 말과 내년에는 각각 3번째 및 4번째 분기기(turnout) 설치 작업이 진행될 예정이다.

MTR Opens New Track Section for Tung Chung Line Extension

MTR Corporation announced that a new track section connecting the upcoming Tung Chung East Station and Hong Kong Station opened this Sunday, with operations proceeding smoothly and without incident.

Starting with the first train today, trains departing from Tung Chung Station began using the new track section, which was constructed as part of the Tung Chung Line extension project. Train frequencies remain unchanged.

MTR stated that total travel times are virtually the same as before and that the operations team is closely monitoring the situation to ensure smooth service.

The technical team is set to begin the next phase of track realignment work heading toward Tung Chung. This process involves dismantling the existing Hong Kong-bound track—which is no longer in use—to create space for the installation of the new track section.

Additionally, the installation of the third and fourth turnouts is scheduled to take place later this year and next year, respectively.
