홍콩 관광객, 7월 일본 방문 55% 급증
홍콩 관광객의 7월 일본 방문 수가 전년 동월 대비 54.8% 급증하며 일본 관광 산업 전체의 기록적인 호황에 크게 기여했다.
일본관광공사(JNTO)가 8월 19일 발표한 자료에 따르면, 홍콩 관광객의 급증은 다른 동아시아 시장의 강력한 회복세의 일환이다. 한국 관광객은 31.9%, 대만 관광객은 26.4% 증가하며 월간 70만 명을 돌파한 것은 이번이 처음이다.
이러한 관광객 유입에 힘입어 7월 일본 전체 외국인 관광객 수는 344만 2,100명을 기록하며 월별 역대 최고치를 경신했고, 4개월 연속 감소세를 마감하고 반등에 성공했다.
일본관광청(JNTO)은 홍콩과 같은 시장의 급격한 성장세는 부분적으로는 '기저 효과' 때문이라고 분석했다.
홍콩을 비롯한 다른 지역의 관광객 급증과는 대조적으로, 중국 본토 관광객 수는 56.1%나 급감하며 지속적인 감소세를 보였다.
일본 정부는 이러한 감소세의 원인으로 베이징 정부의 여행 경보 발령과 항공편 감축 등을 꼽았다.
Hong Kong Tourists Surge 55% in Japan Visits in July
The number of Hong Kong tourists visiting Japan in July surged by 54.8% compared to the same month last year, significantly contributing to the record-breaking boom in Japan's overall tourism industry.
According to data released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) on August 19, the surge in Hong Kong tourists is part of a strong recovery trend in other East Asian markets. With South Korean tourists increasing by 31.9% and Taiwanese tourists by 26.4%, this marks the first time the monthly total has surpassed 700,000.
Driven by this influx of tourists, the total number of foreign visitors to Japan in July reached 3,442,100, setting a new all-time monthly record and successfully rebounding after ending a four-month consecutive decline.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) analyzed that the rapid growth in markets like Hong Kong is partly due to the "base effect." In contrast to the surge in tourists from Hong Kong and other regions, the number of tourists from mainland China plummeted by 56.1%, showing a continuous downward trend.
The Japanese government cited the Beijing government's travel advisory and flight reductions as the causes of this decline.
