주택국은 8월 13일 발표를 통해 최근 분기별 공공 임대주택 평균 대기 기간(CWT)이 4.8년으로, 전 분기 대비 0.1년 소폭 증가했다고 밝혔다.
주택국은 이 수치가 2026년 6월 말 기준 지난 12개월 동안 공공 임대주택(PRH) 또는 경량 공공주택(LPH)에 입주한 일반 신청자(가족 및 1인 노인 신청자)를 기준으로 산출되었다고 설명했다.
또한, 현 정부 출범 이전 최고치였던 6.1년과 비교하면 평균 대기 기간이 1.3년 단축되었으며, 2018~2025년 기록보다는 낮고 5년 미만을 유지하고 있다고 강조했다.
주택국은 2026년 2분기에 약 4,400명의 일반 신청자에게 공공 임대주택 또는 경량 공공주택 입주를 알선했다. 이러한 주택에는 신규 완공된 공공임대주택(PRH) 약 720채, 재입주된 공공임대주택 약 2,400채, 그리고 장기임대주택(LPH) 약 1,300채가 포함된다.
2026-27년부터 향후 5년간, 보조금 지급 대상 분양 아파트, 공공주택(PRH), 그리고 장기주택(LPH)을 포함한 전체 공공주택 공급량은 약 19만 6,000호에 달할 것으로 예상되며, 이는 현 정부 출범 당시보다 약 85% 증가한 수치이다. 이 중 약 11만 5,000호의 공공주택이 완공되어 공급량이 정점에 이를 것으로 전망된다.

The Housing Authority announced on August 13 that the average waiting period (CWT) for public housing in the recent quarter stood at 4.8 years, a slight increase of 0.1 years compared to the previous quarter.
The Housing Authority explained that this figure was calculated based on general applicants (families and single elderly applicants) who moved into Public Housing (PRH) or Lightweight Public Housing (LPH) during the past 12 months as of the end of June 2026.
Furthermore, it emphasized that the average waiting period has shortened by 1.3 years compared to the peak of 6.1 years prior to the current administration's inauguration, and remains below 5 years, which is lower than the records from 2018 to 2025.
The Housing Authority facilitated the entry of approximately 4,400 general applicants into Public Housing or Lightweight Public Housing during the second quarter of 2026. These housing units include approximately 720 newly completed Public Housing (PRH) units, approximately 2,400 re-occupied Public Housing units, and approximately 1,300 Long-term Housing (LPH) units.
Over the next five years, starting from 2026–27, the total supply of public housing—including subsidized apartments for sale, Public Housing (PRH), and Long-term Housing (LPH)—is expected to reach approximately 196,000 units, representing an increase of about 85% compared to when the current government took office. Of these, approximately 115,000 public housing units are projected to be completed, marking the peak of the supply volume.
