홍콩과 중국, 시장 협력 강화
홍콩 특별행정구 정부는 홍콩과 중국 본토 간 시장 협력을 심화하고 조화로운 발전을 도모하는 새로운 조치를 적극적으로 환영했다.
중국 증권감독관리위원회와 증권선물위원회가 발표한 일련의 새로운 조치는 홍콩의 국제 금융 중심지로서의 위상을 공고히 하고 강화하는 것을 목표로 한다.
존 리 홍콩 행정장관은 이 조치가 기업 발전과 국경을 넘는 자금 조달을 지원할 것이라고 밝혔다. 또한 지수, 선물, 상장지수펀드(ETF) 분야에서 협력을 심화함으로써 시장 연결성을 증진할 것이라고 덧붙였다.
존리 장관은 “‘일국양제’ 원칙 하에서 홍콩은 모국의 강력한 지원을 받으면서 세계와 긴밀하게 연결되어 있는 독특한 이점을 누리고 있다”며, “중국 금융 시스템의 중요한 가교 역할을 하는 홍콩은 앞으로도 ‘투자 유치 및 세계화’라는 역할을 더욱 적극적으로 수행하여 국가 전체의 발전에 더욱 효과적으로 기여할 것”이라고 강조했다.
폴 찬 재무장관은 이번에 발표된 10가지 새로운 조치가 역외 상장, ETF, 지수 협력, 위안화 표시 선물 상품, 중국 본토 전문 자격 신청 절차 간소화, 규제 협력 강화 등을 포괄한다고 밝혔다.
"이 조치들은 중국 본토와 해외 투자자들이 홍콩의 안정적이고 질 높은 경제 발전과 현대 산업 시스템 구축에서 비롯되는 막대한 투자 기회를 활용할 수 있도록 지원하는 동시에, 중국 본토 시장과 글로벌 자본을 연결하는 허브로서 홍콩의 기능을 강화할 것입니다."라고 말했다.
홍콩 특별행정구 정부는 규제 당국과 협력하여 이러한 조치들의 원활한 시행을 지원할 것이라고 밝혔다.
Hong Kong and China Strengthen Market Cooperation
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government actively welcomed new measures aimed at deepening market cooperation and promoting harmonious development between Hong Kong and mainland China.
The series of new measures announced by the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Securities and Futures Commission aims to consolidate and strengthen Hong Kong's status as an international financial hub.
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee stated that these measures will support corporate development and cross-border financing. He added that they will also enhance market connectivity by deepening cooperation in the fields of indices, futures, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Chief Executive Lee emphasized, "Under the 'One Country, Two Systems' principle, Hong Kong enjoys the unique advantage of being closely connected to the world while receiving strong support from the mother country." He further stated, "As an important bridge to China's financial system, Hong Kong will continue to actively fulfill its role of 'attracting investment and globalization' to contribute more effectively to the overall development of the country." Finance Secretary Paul Chan stated that the 10 new measures announced this time encompass offshore listings, ETFs, index cooperation, RMB-denominated futures products, simplification of application procedures for mainland China professional qualifications, and strengthened regulatory cooperation.
"These measures will support mainland and overseas investors in taking advantage of the immense investment opportunities stemming from Hong Kong's stable and high-quality economic development and the establishment of a modern industrial system, while simultaneously strengthening Hong Kong's function as a hub connecting the mainland Chinese market with global capital," he said.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government stated that it will cooperate with regulatory authorities to support the smooth implementation of these measures.
