[홍콩치안] 홍콩 시티버스 좌석 '바느질 바늘' 테러 범인 51세 여성 전격 체포

 홍콩섬에서 운행 중인 시티버스 좌석에 바느질 바늘을 숨겨 승객 한 명이 다친 사건과 관련하여 51세 주부가 체포되었다.

경찰은 7월 24일, 신고 접수 후 서부지구 경찰이 광범위한CCTV 영상 검토와 정보 분석을 실시했다고 밝다. 용의자는 7월 23일 저녁 자택에서 검거되었다. 자택 수색 과정에서 경찰은 사건에 사용된 것과 유사한 바느질 바늘 7개와 당시 착용한 것으로 추정되는 의류를 발견했다. 압수된 물품들은 감식을 위해 보관 중이다.

체포된 여성은 해당 버스 노선 인근에 거주하며, 이 버스를 정기적으로 이용하는 승객으로 알려졌다. 피의자는 상해미수 및 재물손괴 혐의로 구금되어 있다. 

상해미수죄는 유죄 판결 시 최대 무기징역, 재물손괴죄는 최대 10년의 징역형에 처해질 수 있다. 

 Housewife Arrested Over Sewing Needle Hidden in Citybus Seat

• [Arrest Made] Police arrested a 51-year-old local housewife at her residence on July 23 following an investigation into a sewing needle placed in a Citybus seat on Hong Kong Island, which injured a passenger.

• [Evidence Seized] After reviewing extensive CCTV footage and intelligence, officers raided her home, seizing 7 sewing needles similar to the one used in the crime, as well as clothes worn during the incident.

• [Suspect Background] The suspect lives near the bus route and is a regular commuter on the line. She is currently detained on charges of attempted wounding and criminal damage.

• [Severe Penalties] Attempted wounding carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, while criminal damage is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
