지난 9월 3일(목) 오후, 홍콩의 저명한 자선 단체인 '푸드엔젤(Food Angel, 惜食堂)' 자키클럽에서 의미 있는 후원 행사가 개최되었다.
푸드엔젤은 "음식물 낭비 감소"와 "기아 구제"라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡으며 홍콩 사회에 지대한 공헌을 하는 단체이다.
식품 산업체로부터 안전한 잉여 식품을 기부받아 위생적인 중앙 주방에서 영양가 높은 따뜻한 도시락(Hot Meal)으로 조리한 후, 홍콩 전역의 독거노인, 저소득층 가정 등 취약 계층에게 무료로 제공하는 숭고한 일을 하고 있다.
이 뜻깊은 자리에 한인홍은 한국의 우수한 식재료(한국산 계란, 과일, 한인홍 상품권‘을 정기적으로 아낌없는 기부로 현지 소외 이웃들에게 따뜻한 한 끼의 정(情)을 매년 약 hkd20만 상당을 기부하고 있다.
한인홍의 기부는 단순한 물품 지원을 넘어, 한국과 홍콩의 마음을 잇는 가교 역할을 하며 현지 사회와의 유대감을 한층 더 깊게 만들고 있다.
푸드엔젤은 설립 이래 매일 수만 개의 식사를 제공하며 홍콩의 빈곤과 기아 완화에 결정적인 기여를 하고 있으며, 동시에 엄청난 양의 음식물 쓰레기가 매립지로 향하는 것을 막아 환경 보호에도 앞장서고 있는 홍콩의 보석 같은 단체이다.
이러한 가치 있는 단체와 함께 손잡고 환경과 이웃을 모두 생각하는 한인홍의 선택은 홍콩 사회에 '선한 영향력'을 확산시키는 훌륭한 사례가 아닐 수 없다.

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 3, a meaningful sponsorship event was held at the Jockey Club facility of "Food Angel," a renowned charity organization in Hong Kong.
Food Angel makes a significant contribution to Hong Kong society by simultaneously addressing two critical issues: reducing food waste and alleviating hunger.
The organization carries out the noble task of collecting safe surplus food from the food industry, preparing nutritious, hot meals in a hygienic central kitchen, and providing them free of charge to vulnerable groups—such as the elderly living alone and low-income families—across Hong Kong. Through regular and generous donations of high-quality Korean ingredients—such as Korean eggs, fruit, and Haninhong gift vouchers—Haninhong gifts a warm, heartfelt meal to underprivileged neighbors in the local community.
Haninhong’s contributions go beyond the mere provision of goods; they serve as a bridge connecting the hearts of Korea and Hong Kong, further deepening the bond with the local community.
Since its inception, Food Angel has played a pivotal role in alleviating poverty and hunger in Hong Kong by providing tens of thousands of meals daily. It is a truly invaluable organization that also champions environmental protection by preventing vast amounts of food waste from ending up in landfills.
Haninhong’s decision to partner with such a meaningful organization—demonstrating care for both the environment and the community—stands as an exemplary case of spreading "positive influence" throughout Hong Kong society.
